European stocks ended the trading day in negative territory on Tuesday, with the Stoxx Europe 600 index falling 0.95% to 482.83.

Declines in Stock Prices

Among the constituents of the Stoxx Europe 600, retail company HelloFresh SE saw the largest decline on Tuesday, with shares dropping by 8.1%. Technology firm Just Eat Takeaway.com N.V. and health care/life sciences company Orion Oyj Series B weakened by 6.9% and 6.1%, respectively. Machinery company Tomra Systems ASA and business Lotus Bakeries N.V. rounded out the top five largest decreases as their stocks dropped by 5.5% and 5.2%, respectively.

Increase in Stock Prices

Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin, a motor vehicle parts company, experienced the largest increase among the constituents of the Stoxx Europe 600, with shares surging by 6.9% on Tuesday. Automotive firm Rheinmetall AG and banking/credit company Banco de Sabadell S.A. also saw gains, rising by 4.6% and 3.1% respectively. Banking/credit company CaixaBank S.A. and Thule Group AB rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks added 2.7% and 2.4% respectively.

Currency and Commodity Movements

The pound was down 0.17% against the dollar, while the euro saw a decline of 0.49%. Brent crude added 0.98% to reach $82.80.

Yield Changes

The yield on the 10-year gilt rose by 9.52 basis points to 4.154%, while the yield on the German 10-year bund increased by 3.080 basis points to 2.40%.
